- 12 tbsp unsalted butter 1 stick and half sticks
- 2 10oz bags of mini marshmallows
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 5 cups puffed rice cereal
- 5 heath bars, chopped into small pieces
Grease or line a 9x13 baking dish with parchment paper. Set aside.
In a large pot, melt the butter or medium heat. Let it cook until it starts to brown, about 4 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and add in the marshmallows. Keep stirring the whole time until the marshmallows have melted and you have a smooth texture. Remove from heat. Stir in the vanilla extract. Then stir in the puffed rice cereal and heath pieces. Stir to combine and make sure to scrape up all the melted goodness at the bottom of the pot.
Spoon the mixture into the prepared 9x13 dish and gently press with your fingers. You don't want to press down too hard or you will be left with hard rice crispy treats. So grease your fingers or the back of a spatula and gently press down. to fill the pan. Let sit at room temp for 1 hour to firm up a bit. Store in an airtight container.
