Course: Main Course, Side Dish
Cuisine: American, Italian
Keyword: meatball
Servings: 18 meatballs
- 1 1/2 lbs ground beef I use 85%/15%
- 5 oz can of evaporated milk
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup old fashioned oats
- 1/2 cup cracker crumbs or breadcrumbs whatever you have on hand
- 1/2 small white onion, diced
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp chili powder
- salt and pepper
If cooking immediately:
Preheat oven to 350°. Spray a baking dish with non-stick spray.
In a large bowl, combine all ingredients with your hands until just mixed. Form into meatballs. I use about 2 tbsp worth of meat per meatball but make them to your size liking. Place in prepared dish and top with your preferred sauce. Bake for 1 hour.
If freezing:
After rolling the meatballs, place them on a parchment lined baking sheet with space in between them. Put in the freezer for at least an hour to firm up and then place in freezer safe ziplock bag. When ready to use them, no need to defrost. Place them directly from frozen in a baking dish, cover with sauce and then bake at 350° for 1 hour.
