2poundsground beef
1small yellow oniondiced
1green bell pepperdiced
4cupsbeef broth
1jar salsa
1 28ozcan of crushed tomotoes
1 12ozcan diced tomatoes
2cans dark kidney beans
1/3cupchili powder
2tbspcumin
2tbsphot sauceI used Cholula
1tspgarlic powder
2tbspworcestershire sauce
1tbspsteak sauce
1cupwater
6oztomato paste
Optional toppings:
sour cream
shredded cheddar cheese
chives
Instructions
Directions:
In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef, onions and green peppers. Brown the meat and cook until veggies have softened.
Add in all other ingredients besides the water and tomato paste. Measure out 1 cup of water in a liquid measuring cup. Add the tomato paste to the water and whisk to combine. Add that to the pot with the other ingredients. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes.
Top with whatever ingredients you like! I top mine with sour cream, cheddar cheese and chives.
Notes
If you don't like heat, I would recommend taking the chili powder down to 1/4 cup and foregoing the hot sauce.
