Apple Cider Pastries

Okay loves, not kidding these are the easiest. Literally, fool proof and only 6 ingredients. Yes, you heard that correctly, 6 ingredients and done in 20 minutes. They look impressive to guests and are a great thing to make for the holidays. I will definitely be making these over Thanksgiving as a quick, easy breakfast! I’ll also be making homemade cinnamon rolls and other stuff that’s much more labor intensive (but oh-so worth it!) but who doesn’t want an easy recipe thrown in the mix?!

Apple Cider Pastries

Easy apple pastries that resemble an apple pie without any hassle!
Author: Tessa Port

Ingredients

Ingredients:

  • 1 roll of puff pastry dough found in frozen food section
  • 4-5 tbsp of apple cider jam Trader Joe's seasonal section!
  • 2 honeycrisp apples finely diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp cinnamon
  • 2 tbsp sugar
  • 1/2 cup water

Instructions

Directions:

  • Let puff pastry dough thaw at room temperature. Put it in fridge to keep it cold once thawed.
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a medium sauce pan, add your apples, cinnamon, sugar and water. Let cook on medium heat until apples have softened and the sugar has caramelized. About 5 minutes. Set aside.
  • Take the dough out of the fridge and unroll it. (dough should still be cold!) Spread the apple cider jam over the whole sheet of puff pastry. Then cut into squares.  I did 9 squares in total so, 3x3.
  • Transfer the squares to a parchment lined baking sheet. Top the squares with the apples.
  • Bake for 17-19 minutes until the edges of the squares have become golden.

These keep in an airtight container for about 4 days. But they go quickly. Best served warm! Tag me if you make them!
