Peppermint Pretzel Bark

peppermint pretzel BarkHello darlings,

With Christmas being less than a week away, I thought a recipe for those last minute people out there would be a good idea! This peppermint pretzel bark is great to have around the house and also makes a really sweet and thoughtful gift for neighbors, co-workers and friends. The pretzels add a lil somethin’ somethin’ extra.

Peppermint Pretzel Bark

A festive treat for the holidays! Sweet with a touch of saltiness.
Prep Time8 minutes mins
Freezing Time1 hour hr 5 minutes mins
Course: Dessert, Snack
Cuisine: American
Keyword: bark, christmas, peppermint, pretzels

Ingredients

  • 4 cups semi sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 tsp peppermint extract
  • 2 cups small pretzels
  • 3 cups white chocolate chips
  • 20 mini candy canes, crushed about 1 cup

Instructions

  • Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Using a double boiler method, melt your semi sweet chocolate and add the peppermint extract. Stirring constantly with a spatula. Spoon the melted chocolate onto the baking sheet and spread it out into an even layer. Top with the pretzels, pushing down lightly. Pop in freezer for 5-8 minutes.
  • While that's hardening up, melt your white chocolate using the same method. Once smooth, remove the pan from the freezer and spoon the white chocolate on top. Spread it out over the base layer. Top with the crushed candy canes. Put back in freezer for at least an hour to firm up.
  • Break apart into pieces (or use a large, heavy knife) and store in an airtight container for up to a week.

This is a very simple recipe that would be good to do with the kiddos over the holidays, too! Will definitely be bringing some home for my family this year! Would love to see if you make it so please tag me @HonestDarling if you do.

I hope you have the best Christmas/holiday with your loved ones!

xx
