Hello darlings! For #EasyMondays this week, I decided to share with you my 30 minute beef chili recipe. There are few things better on a chilly day than a big pot of chili making your house smell like a dream and then eating said chili with a big glob of sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese on top. The toppings are totally up to you but this chili is not one to be missed!
30 Minute Beef Chili
There's not many things better than a pot of chili on a cold day. This one has just the perfect amount of heat!
Servings: 10
Ingredients
Ingredients:
- 2 pounds ground beef
- 1 small yellow onion diced
- 1 green bell pepper diced
- 4 cups beef broth
- 1 jar salsa
- 1 28 oz can of crushed tomotoes
- 1 12 oz can diced tomatoes
- 2 cans dark kidney beans
- 1/3 cup chili powder
- 2 tbsp cumin
- 2 tbsp hot sauce I used Cholula
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tbsp worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp steak sauce
- 1 cup water
- 6 oz tomato paste
Optional toppings:
- sour cream
- shredded cheddar cheese
- chives
Instructions
Directions:
- In a large pot over medium heat, add the ground beef, onions and green peppers. Brown the meat and cook until veggies have softened.
- Add in all other ingredients besides the water and tomato paste. Measure out 1 cup of water in a liquid measuring cup. Add the tomato paste to the water and whisk to combine. Add that to the pot with the other ingredients. Reduce heat to medium-low and let simmer for 20 minutes.
- Top with whatever ingredients you like! I top mine with sour cream, cheddar cheese and chives.
Notes
If you don't like heat, I would recommend taking the chili powder down to 1/4 cup and foregoing the hot sauce.
This is an easy recipe because you basically just throw it in a pot and let it go. Feel free to adjust the water here. Some like a thinner chili so if that’s you, add up to 1 cup more. So easy, so yummy and so perfect for fall! As always, tag me if you make it!
