Hello my loves,
I have finally given in to the air fryer craze and got one. This is the first recipe I’m sharing that uses an air fryer! These crispy air fryer popcorn chicken bites are addicting.
With football season being in full swing, I thought now would be a good time to share easy, quick and addicting appetizer recipes to make for your next football viewing party. Even if that party is just you and your pets. These will be a crowd favorite and they’re not as heavy and greasy as a lot of the other ones.
Trust me, you will love. I served mine with ranch and a spicy honey sauce but go with your faves! Bbq sauce would also be great.

Equipment
- 1 air fryer
Ingredients
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 lb boneless, skinless chicken breasts about 2 medium sized breasts
- 1 1/2 cup panko bread crumbs
- salt and pepper
- 1 egg + 1 tbsp water
- 3 tbsp flour
- 2 tsp garlic powder
- 2 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp oregano
- large pinch cayenne, optional
Instructions
- In a large pan, heat olive oil. Once heated, add panko and salt and pepper to taste. Cook stirring often until panko is nice and browned. Remove from pan and pour into a shallow bowl. To the bowl, add the garlic powder, onion powder, oregano, cayenne, salt and pepper.
- In another bowl, whisk the egg and water. In a third bowl, the flour with salt and pepper. Working in batches and using tongs, add the chicken to the flour mixture and fully coat. Shake off excess then coat in egg. Let excess drip off then fully coat in panko mixture. Making sure to get all sides. Time to air fry.
- Spray the inside of the air fryer basket with olive oil spray. Add enough chicken pieces to fill the bottom but don't overcrowd. Work in batches. Fry at 400° for 5 minutes, shaking once in the middle of cooking time.
- Serve with ranch, spicy honey, ketchup, mustard or bbq sauce. Enjoy!
