Christmas Tree Pull Apart Bread

Okay darlings,

This has got to be one of my favorite holiday appetizers! It’s delicious, satisfying and oh so festive! Just look at it…

Best of all, you probably have all of the ingredients (or most) in your fridge right now. It’s one of those things you can make in a pinch that will look like you put so much time into it! To be fair, it does take a liiiiittle bit of time to put together. But not bad! I promise. <3

Christmas Tree Pull Apart Bread

Ingredients:

  • 2 cans of refrigerated pizza dough
  • 7 mozzarella cheese sticks
  • 1/2 stick of butter
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons granulated garlic
  • 4 fresh basil leaves, chopped
  • 1 egg + 1 tablespoon water, whisked
  • 1/2 cup parmesan
  • marinara for dipping

Directions:

  1. Preheat oven to 450 degrees.
  2. Cut the mozzarella cheese sticks into 1 inch pieces. Set aside.
  3. Open the pizza dough and stretch out on a floured surface. Cut the dough in 4 rows of 4.
  4. Melt the butter in microwavable bowl. Once melted, add garlic powder and stir.
  5. Brush each square with the garlic butter mixture.
  6. Place a piece of mozzarella in the center of a square and pinch all four corners together or keep it secure.
  7. Place the balls, seam side down on a nonstick sheet. Starting from the bottom of the tree.
  8. Continue and form your tree! From the bottom, I did rows of 2, 6, 5, 4, 3, 3, 2 and 1.
  9. Brush with the egg wash.
  10. Bake for 15-20 minutes until your tree has browned a little! Not too much 🙂
  11. Take out of the oven, brush with all remaining butter mixture (or simply melt more if you used it all already!) Sprinkle with parmesan and basil.
  12. Serve warm with marinara sauce.

You guys, I made this for some friends and they went nuts! The presentation alone is worthy of a picture. And it’s so, so easy. So give it a shot! I promise you it won’t disappoint.

Let me know your thoughts!
