Hello loves,
Is it just me, or are drinks more fun this time of year when they’re red?! Just me? Okay. Well, this cocktail is delicious and the red color doesn’t hurt 😛
My favorite type of alcohol is gin. I know, how “grandpa” of me, right? But it’s so yummy!! Also, happens to be one of the lowest caloric alcohols out there. So, you’re welcome for that tid bit. When I lived in New York, I had several jobs (duh, how else does a 20 year old afford NYC rent?!) one of which, was working at Abercrombie on Fifth Avenue. This was an interesting job for several reasons. The hierarchy was…interesting. However, I made some of my best, most influential friends there and I still love the clothes from there. I know, shocking. Promise you though, they’ve stepped their game up and now have totally fashion forward pieces each season.
Annnyyyways, these friends I made also happen to be models. Like, 5’11” legs for days, impossible tiny waists, models. And they insisted that gin was the alcohol to drink due to the lower caloric value. So, there you have it. That began the gin obsession.
Cranberry Gimlet
Ingredients:
- 2 oz gin
- 1 1/2 oz unsweetend cranberry juice
- 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
- 1/2 simple syrup
- ice for shaking
Directions:
- Add ice to shaker.
- Pour all ingredients over ice and shake it well
- Pour into a coupe glass.
- Garnish if you so wish with cranberries or a sprig of thyme.
There you have it, darlings! A lower calorie, festive cocktail for your holiday gatherings. This one totally works if you wanna do it in a big punch bowl. And always feel free to adjust to your tastes! Joe loved this one while I was making them. He would sample and say “maybe a little more or less of something?” haha At least he’s enthusiastic!
Let me know what you think!
