Cream Cheese Thumbprint Cookies

Hello my loves,

The cookie posts continue! These cream cheese thumbprint cookies come from my mama’s recipe box. She sent me the recipe a month or so ago and I’ve made them 3 times. Whoops!

These are so easy! They’re creamy, rich, delicate yet substantial enough to be satisfying. Truly magic in a cookie and the fact that they are only 4 ingredients makes these a no-brainer and the perfect cookie to throw together last minute for those unexpected guests.

Cream Cheese Thumbprint Cookies

These are creamy, buttery, chewy, rich yet delicate and so so good. With only 4 ingredients, these could not be easier!

Ingredients

  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup salted butter, softened can use unsalted, just add a tiny pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup + 3 tbsp sugar
  • 1 cup + 3 tbsp flour
  • jam of choice
  • powdered sugar for dusting, optional

Instructions

  • Preheat oven to 375° and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  • In a stand mixer using the paddle attachment, beat butter and cream cheese until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add sugar and mix until combined. Add flour slowly while mixing. Cover and refrigerate 25 minutes.
  • Use a cookie scoop or melon baller and scoop out balls of dough and place on sheet a couple inches apart. Use your thumb and make a little well in the middle of each cookie. Fill with jam. Bake for 11-15 minutes, until edges are just starting to brown. Remove from oven and let rest on baking sheet for 5-8 minutes. Remove and let cool completely on wire rack. Once cooled, dust with powdered sugar. Enjoy!

Looking for more cookie recipes? Let me suggest my Rolo sugar cookies which are little sugar cookie cups filled with an ooey gooey Rolo or my oatmeal chocolate chip cookies which are thick and chewy and oh so good warm with a glass of cold milk. Happy holidays, friends!
