Happy Friday, darlings!
As holiday party season approaches… well, it’s basically here, I thought it would be good to share ideas for warmer looks as well as some fun dresses! Being in Pennsylvania over Thanksgiving made me remember just how frickin’ cold it is in the rest of the country this time of year. Strapless dresses and open toed shoes don’t really make sense to people outside of SoCal and Florida. The first look is for my LA/warmer climate girls. Strapless, ruffled and a fabulous red and black jacquard pattern. Could not get more holiday!
**styling tip** If you want to take this dress to colder climates, layer a fitted black turtle neck under the dress and add a pair of sheer black tights. Would be so cute like that!!
This next look is for my girls in the colder climates that don’t feel like baring any leg. Listen, I don’t blame you. It’s freezing!! If I lived in the midwest or somewhere that’s not LA, I would be experimenting with layers all day. These wide-leg velvet pants are seriously chic and offer a sophisticated take on holiday wear. They’re high-waisted, which, hello is the best. They fit TTS. I’m wearing an XXS for reference.
I paired it with a bold red lip and gold shoes to add a little holiday flair. Oh, and can we talk about this sweater for a moment? The cutout is perfectly placed to keep the cleavage, low and the warmth, high. The stripes on the sleeves offer a little detail that won’t go unnoticed and the mock neck is the perfect height that won’t leave you feeling choked. Does anyone else sometimes think that their turtle neck is going to kill them? I’m wearing one as I write this and I keep pulling it out to allow proper air flow in my esophagus. Yes, I did just do it.
